After a perfect spring weekend in San Francisco, my fiancé Melissa and I had the atypical experience of checking out a rock band at a Broadway venue where I saw Jesus Christ Superstar a few years ago, The Golden Gate Theatre. I’m sure the staff was not used to seeing fans with the endless black-shirt parade and alternative-rock looks, as opposed to dressed-up musical theater folks. Atypical is a good first qualifier to discuss the artistry of Puscifer, self-described as “the collective unconscious” of its founder, Maynard James Keenan, also of Tool and A Perfect Circle.
