ALBUM REVIEW:  Artillery – X


Armed to the teeth with more riffs than you can shake a Howitzer at, Danish thrashers Artillery return with X (Metal Blade Records), their self-explanatory and succinctly titled tenth album. Sadly, guitarist Morten Stützer, brother of fellow founder member and co-guitarist Michael Stützer, passed away in 2019 meaning the band were forced into a change in personnel. His replacement, Sacrificial axeman Kræn Meier, pulls off an excellent job under the darkest of circumstances and this latest record stands as one of their strongest to date.

Artillery US Tour With Striker, VX36, Dahlers Realm, Potential Threat Confirm Dates

Danish thrash metal veterans Artillery will be returning to the US this spring with Striker, VX36, Potential Threat and Dahlmers Realm as support.

Artillery formed in the Copenhagen suburb of Taastrup, Denmark in 1982 by Michael and Morten Stützer. Since then the band has gone through numerous lineup shifts and gave released six studio offerings. The first period of Artillery’s existence gave the world the three classic albums – Fear Of Tomorrow, Terror Squad and By Inheritance – featuring some of the finest moments of thrash metal Europe has ever put out.
