ALBUM REVIEW: Florence and The Machine – Dance Fever – Polydor Records


Like a lot of us out there, the lockdowns during the pandemic gave Florence Welch a lot of spare time to kill. When reading about the UK during the middle ages, Welch discovered ‘choreomania’ or dancing to exhaustion or even death, and thus became the soul theme to the band’s fifth album Dance Fever (Polydor Records). Now, some thirteen years since the act’s debut album, Lungs, Florence and The Machine have become a household name, having headlined grand festivals such as Glastonbury, and the real question is where can the group go from here.

Hear Florence and The Machine’s Cover of a new Game Of Thrones Song


Game of Thrones is now well into their final season on HBO with episode two airing last night. The episode closes with the character of Podrick Payne, portrayed by Daniel Portman singing the song ‘Jenny of Oldstones’, which is referenced in the original George RR Martin A Song of Ice and Fire books. After Payne sings the song, the song plays again over the final credits, as performed by Florence and The Machine. The cover has over 800,000 views since the show aired. Billy Joel, Robert Plant and Slayer Among The Names For Bonnaroo

Bonnaroo Festival has announced their line-up for 2015 with their annual Bonnaroo Line-up Announcement Megathon or B.L.A.M. Billy Joel who has never played the festival, was a surprising but inspired choice as a headliner. Joining the veteran rocker on the line-up is Robert Plant and the Sensational Space, who once again plays the fest. From the metal world Slayer was announced earlier as well as artists from the across rock, pop and indie music landscape. Past metal bands to play the fest include Metallica, Opeth and Mastodon. The B.L.A.M. event ramps up fan excitement while enticing fans to share and promote their favorite artists on the fest via Social Media.

Circa Survive will be performing on the Sunday (April 12/19, 2015) of Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival 2015’s two consecutive weekends, alongside Drake, Florence and the Machine, Brand New, Jenny Lewis, Built To Spill, Touche Amore, Joyce Manor and more.

They are currently touring behind their new album Descensus, out now via Sumerian Records, and was produced, engineered, and mixed by Will Yip of Studio 4.
