Crossover Thrash and Hardcore Punk Legends Suicidal Tendencies have dropped their new single “Adrenaline Addict!” It is their first song since 2018, other than re-recorded older songs, and their first new song with their revamped lineup up including Ty Trujillo (ex-Korn live) on bass, Jay Weinberg (ex-Slipknot) on drums and Ben Weinman (The Dillinger Escape Plan) on guitar. They join founder/vocalist Cyco Mike Muir (Infectious Grooves), and long running guitarist/vocalist Dean Pleasants (Infectious Grooves). The band is kicking off dates on Metallica’s M72 tour with Pantera, this weekend in Syracuse, New York! When you think of heavy music, images of raw power, defiance, and innovation come to mind—and Black creators have been at the forefront of this movement. Although often underestimated, these innovative musicians are known for their groundbreaking music, which blends punk’s rebellious spirit, metal’s intensity, and unique artistry. I’m a drummer and I’ve done Thrash, Crossover, and Death Metal projects over the years, some known, some not so much. But here in New York, I’ve grown up seeing everyone on stage. So this Black History Month, I want to show off the sounds of ten essential bands shaped by Black visionaries who have left an indelible mark on the world of heavy music. Watch Infectious Grooves Cover Faith No More Live in Brazil


Infectious Grooves performed last night in Sao Paolo, Brazil as part of Sick Bastards Social Fest in Brazil. The band included frontman Mike Muir, Metallica bassist Robert Trujillo and ex-Faith No More guitarist Jim Martin, alongside Brooks Wackerman (Avenged Sevenfold) on drums and Dean Pleasants (Suicidal Tendencies) on second guitar. The event, which was curated by Muir, celebrated 34 years of the Brazilian radio station 89 A Rádio Rock. Also appearing with the band for “We Care A Lot” and a performance of the Suicidal Tendencies classic “Subliminal” was Trujillo’s son Ty.
