Def Leppard Drummer Rick Allen Was Assaulted Outside His Fort Lauderdale Hotel


 

According to a report from ABC News WSVN 7 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida Def Leppard drummer Rick Allen was assaulted outside the hotel he was staying at after a show in South Florida. Allen was outside the Four Seasons in the valet area for a smoke.  At that very moment, according to a police report, he was violently attacked by Max Edward Hartley, 19, who was visiting from Ohio. Allen in South Florida to perform a show at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino over the weekend. The show, this past Sunday, had Def Leppard co-headlining with Mötley Crüe. Allen, who has one arm following his infamous 1984 car accident, 59, was staying at the Four Seasons on Fort Lauderdale Beach. Bailey bailed out of the Broward County Jail on Tuesday. He was met by a 7News photographer who questioned why he would knock over a man with one arm and whether he knew that the man was Def Leppard’s drummer.

Reaction videos are nothing new, but we found a real gem today. Watch as these parents slowly lose their shit watching “extreme metal” videos by Behemoth, Architects, Arch Enemy, And Fleshgod Apocalypse, Animals As Leaders, The Black Satans, Lady Baby, Nekrogoblikon, Signs of Swarm and (big sigh) Attack, Attack. Beartooth – Disease


Beartooth is one of the most recognizable names in the scene thanks to frontman, Caleb Shomo of Attack, Attack! fame. A side project turned to full-time venture, Beartooth has released two full studio albums since 2014, Disgusting, Aggressive and now Disease (via Red Bull Records) adds to the discography that represents Shomo’s best work. Randy Blythe: We As A Race, THE HUMAN RACE, Have To Do Better Than This.


Last night a horrific terror attack left 22 people dead, and more than 50 people injured after a suspected suicide bomber set off an explosive after Ariana Grande‘s sold out show at Manchester Arena (details). Like many of you, I don’t know much about her music, but what I do know is that her audience is young, and many of those young lives were lost last night. Just like we do every week, these fans just went to see a show. They wanted to escape from life for a few hours, and enjoy one of their favorite singers, but a coward decided to turn what should be a joyous occasion into an absolute nightmare.

Like all of us, musicians around the world were appalled at the attack, and we saw many post messages of support and love last night on social media. One of those was Lamb Of God‘s Randy Blythe, who took the time to write out a powerful message in response to the attack that I feel is worth sharing. Continue reading
