We are on the eve of the Metal music event of the year, and maybe the decade if they pull it off right! “Back The Beginning” will mark the farewell concert for both Black Sabbath and Ozzy Osbourne, as well as an additional once-in-a-lifetime assortment of bands with Metallica, Slayer, Tool, Pantera, Lamb of God, Gojira, Halestorm, Anthrax, Mastodon, Rival Sons, and many more guests. This has never been attempted before, and the event is also for charity. The musical director for the show is Tom Morello of Rage Against The Machine. Australian blackened avant-garde metal project, Sálezianos recently shared their take on the track, “Brother,” originally by Alice In Chains. It was produced and recorded by: Daniel Phillip East and Nick Jarrah Parkinson, mixed by Dr. Mike Trubetskov (EOL Studios), and mastered by Tony Jack Mantz (Jack the Bear’s Deluxe Mastering). UPDATE: Alice In Chains has now canceled all of their May 2025 tour dates and festivals due to Sean Kinney’s medical emergency. Refunds avaialble at point of purchase. 

 

Alice In Chains was forced to cancel its concert last night (Thursday, May 8th), the kickoff of their current tour at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut. This after drummer Sean Kinney suffered “a non-life-threatening medical emergency.” The show was canceled moments before the doors were to open via signs at the venue and post by the band. The statement can be read below. Refunds are available at the point of purchase. The band has several headline shows and festival dates booked this month including the MMRBQ in Camden, New Jersey (May 10), Sonic Temple in Columbus, Ohio (May 11) and Welcome To Rockville in Daytona Beach, Florida (May 16). They have also lined up several other headlining shows, in Nashville, Tennessee (May 13) and Dothan, Alabama (May 15). Alice In Chains has replaced Mötley Crüe as the new co-headliner for the inaugural Boardwalk Rock Festival. Crüe has dropped out due to health issues., bringing some of the most legendary names in rock and roll to Ocean City, Maryland, May 17-18. From C3 Presents, producers of the beloved Oceans Calling and Country Calling festivals, and hosted by radio personality Eddie Trunk, the two-day powerhouse lineup debuts with over 25 artists across three stages on the shores of Ocean City Inlet Beach at the historic Ocean City Boardwalk.
