Nicarus Releases a New Single and Video for “Tea Party’s Over” –  New Double Album Out Today


 

Israeli Stoner Doom and post-Grunge artist Nicarus has released a new double album to ring in 2023! Sipapu – Stone Buddha and Sipapu – Golden Buddha are both out now and available for purchase and streaming on Bandcamp and the bands’ own GreenMuzic label! Nicarus, a.k.a. Tali Green has also released a new animated music video for the single  “Tea Party’s Over” which you can watch below.

Jeremiah Green, Co-Founder, and Drummer for Modest Mouse, Has Died


 

Sad news as we enter 2023, as indie rock leaders Modest Mouse have lost their drummer Jeremiah Green, to cancer, passing on New Year’s Eve, 2022. He was just 45. This loss came just days after revealing his cancer diagnosis publicly, saying it was “Stage 4” but not what type. The band shared a statement about Jerimiah on their socials, which you can view below. In addition to co-founding Modest Mouse in 1992, Green had been a drummer in punk and alternative bands in the Pacific Northwest, while still in High School. Modest Mouse, famous for the song “Float On,” was formed in the 1992, and released its debut album in 1996. The band has released eight albums so far, including The Golden Casket in 2021. RIP Jeremiah.

Metallica Earned 1.6 Billion Streams on Spotify in 2022


 

Metallica shared their “artist wrapped” from Spotify for 2022 on their Instagram account. The band earned over 1.6 Billion streams from 72 million-plus listeners in 183 countries last year, and they thanked the fans for their support with a message. These numbers all represent an increase in all categories. Metallica first crossed 1 Billion streams in 2020, with 1.3 billion last 2021. Their music first debuted on the platform in 2012.

Patrick Briggs, Frontman of Psychotica Has Died


 

Patrick Briggs, the singer of the Glam Rock band Psychotica, has died. No cause of death has been revealed. The news of his death was shared by Psychotica’s booking agent Leave Home Booking, which was posted on social media. Patrick and Psychotica came out of the third wave of Glam Rock in New York City and had an impact on the scene and beyond, including the fashion world and NYC art scene. RIP.
