The Scattering of Ashes is the fourth full-length from Canadian progressive death metal band Into Eternity, originally released in 2006 on Century Media. The album marked the debut of two beloved members: vocalist Stu Block, later of Iced Earth, and longtime bassist Troy Bleich. It sold well over 2,000 copies on SoundScan in its first week and led to tours alongside Dream Theater, The Haunted, Dark Tranquillity, Destruction, and Edguy, as well as the Gigantour with Megadeth, Lamb of God, Opeth, Arch Enemy, and Overkill.

The 20th Anniversary edition arrives as a limited pressing of 300 copies on Timeless Winter colored vinyl, with an expanded insert featuring personal memories from several band members. Artwork is once again by Mattias Noren, known for his work with Sabaton, Kamelot, and Evergrey, and the album was mixed and mastered by Andy Sneap, whose credits include Judas Priest (also guitarist), Opeth, and Nevermore. Century Media once again licensed the catalog for the release, M-Theory Audio previously pressed vinyl editions of the band’s self-titled debut and Incurable Tragedy in 2020, and Buried into Oblivion in 2024.

As a bonus for fans, Into Eternity is currently recording its seventh studio album, and Stu Block is back. Founding member Tim Roth announces: “The seventh Into Eternity album is currently being recorded. The production is being handled by Mitch Fraser at MF Studios and Justin Bender at Divergent Sounds. Justin recently sent me a mix of a new song, and it is a neck snapper. Can’t wait to release these new Into Eternity songs. Right now, there is no ETA, but album seven is on the way. It’s going to be worth the wait.”
