The Roadburn Festival, the world première event for all things heavy, diverse, avant-garde, and underground begins today in Tilburg, NL at various venues, under the watchful eye of founder Walter Hoeijmakers. John Dyer Baizley of Baroness curates this years’ fest and performs with his band as well. The fest is nearly a sellout with some limited tickets available for Sunday. Full details below.
Thursday’s highlights will include a highly anticipated set from reactivated Coven, Wolves in The Throne Room, Deafheaven, Dalek, GNOD, Subrosa, Pinkish Black, Drow Elixir, Crippled Black Phoenix and more. Baizley talks at 5.45pm on Thursday evening at Full Bleed, his poster exhibition, as part of the weekend-long side program.
Friday is headlined by Baroness, but that is only the beginning of Roadburn 2017’s deepest day. Amenra, Chelsea Wolfe, Oathbreaker, True Widow, Whores, Zhrine, Integrity, Perturbator, Zaum, Schammasch, Ruby the Hatchet, Big Business and many other cap that day’s schedule.
The most anticipated set of the weekend and on Saturday will be Wear Your Wounds, the new project from Jacob Bannon of Converge. Roadburn marks their début on the world stage. Warning also plays that day, performing Watching from a Distance in full. My Dying Bride, Trans Am, Cobalt, Mysticum, Aluk Todolo, AHAB, Memoriam, Youth Code, Woe, Oranssi Pazuzu, The Bug versus Dylan Carlson, Lotus and more.
Sunday closes things out with Ulver, Pallbearer, SUMAC, Oxbow, Les Descretes, Jaye Jale and Emma Ruth Rundle (performing their new EP together), Radar Men From The Moon, Inter Arma and many more.
