In an email missive to fans and cruisers going on next month’s Megacruise, Megadeth’s Dave Mustaine gave an update on his ongoing battle against cancer. Dave says he is almost done with his regiment of treatments and is looking forward to the cruise and doctors are feeling positive about his recovery. Dave also thanked the fans for their support during this undoubtedly trying time. Read the update from the man himself, whom we wish nothing bust the speediest and best possible recovery. Megacrusie sets sail next month on October 13th from Los Angeles aboard the Norwegian Jewel for five days and nights of metal legends. Megadeth, Anthrax, Testament, Queensrÿche, Suicidal Tendencies, Dragonforce, Overkill, Death Angel, Corrosion Of Conformity, Devildriver, Phil Campbell and The Bastard Sons, Doro, Armored Saint, John 5, Metal Church, Danko Jones, Beasto Blanco, Metalachi, Toothgrinder, and Mechanix will participate.

Many of you have expressed your love and concern for Dave Mustaine over the past few weeks and we can finally give you an update regarding the progress of his medical treatment.

We are excited to give you very positive news from the man himself…let’s keep those good vibes coming so he can make a complete recovery!

I wanted to take a moment to give you all an update on the current status of my health. I’m almost through the last round of treatment and my doctors are feeling very positive regarding my progress. I want to thank all of you for the support and well wishes these last few months. I can’t express enough gratitude as it has made this hard road easier knowing you are in my corner fighting with me!

Over the next few weeks my condition will be evaluated, and I will keep you posted on my progress as we get closer to the sailing date of the first Megacruise! We can’t wait to see you, and I know all of the other wonderful artists feel the same way. Let’s make this event one for the record books. Less than 30 days till we are Thrashing through the Pacific!
