This was a great eclectic night and while I am well versed and have seen both Dälek and Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs a handful of times the local opener Taraneh I was unfamiliar with and pleasantly surprised by. Their visual appearance didn’t necessarily fit the mellow shoegaze vibe that they were throwing down, but that’s just a learning curve for a band and nothing to fault them for. All in all I dug it. It was mellow and flowy and a nice different way to start the show.
Dälek is a goddamn pro that has been spitting bars to heavy beats for over a decade. Polished set, great visuals, had everyone’s head bobbing. The venue Elsewhere also has other stages and the kids from the other show kept trying to sneak in to catch Dälek, so that’s cool and I hope that they dig in further.
Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs or Pigsx7 as I will be referring to them henceforth fucking destroyed. They come off as having such a genuinely good time on stage, they made me feel like they are loving life and rocking out doing it. They don’t stand still so they make taking photos a fun challenge for a manual focus shooter like myself, keep it up lads! The on stage banter, gym shorts, and balls to the wall mentality are only a few of many reasons Pigsx7 are kicking ass and creating buzz for themselves. If you get the chance be sure to catch them soon, I think they just announced winter tour dates so keep an eye out.
