Audio: Dekades – The Drones Are Coming

Los Angeles rock band Dekades is streaming their new single “The Drones Are Coming,” off their self titled EP, due out May 26, 2015. Stream it below.

Dekades is a five-piece rock band from Los Angeles, CA. The band continues to make name for themselves in the local music scene playing raw and intense shows all over southern California and opening for notable acts like The Mowgli’s, Dead Sara, Beta Machine and Big Black Delta. The veteran rhythm section of Chris Cano on drums and James Carter on bass rely more upon groove than rote aggression, mimicking the dark undercurrents of a pulsating human heart. Guitarist Josh Benson provides a rich wall of sound upon which multi-instrumentalist Matt Shores applies the chromatic textures. All this beautiful white noise is summoned behind vocalist/guitarist Arden Fisher, a tour de force in her own right.

Fellow musician and friend Matt McJunkins (The Beta Machine, A Perfect Circle) calls the track “sludgy, dirty and sexy.”

Gruesome is streaming their namesake track “Gruesome” here, off their forthcoming debut Savage Land, out in North America on April 21st, preceded by its European release dates, April 17th in Germany, Benelux and Finland and April 20th in the UK and rest of the world via Relapse Records.

Uniting members of Exhumed, Possessed, Malevolent Creation, Derketa and more, with Savage Land, the collective is humbly determined to keep the sound and spirit of Death alive as sincerely and authentically as possible.

Savage Land was recorded by Rios and Gonzalez at Riversound Studios in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, mixed by Jarrett Pritchard at Mana Studios in St. Petersburg, Florida, and features a guest guitar solo on “Closed Casket” by James Murphy as well as cover art by legendary illustrator Ed Repka (Death, Megadeth, Massacre, Athiest et el).

Danish indie rockers Mew is streaming an acoustic version of “Satellites,” off of their forthcoming album +- (as in ‘plus minus’), out April 28 in North America via PIAS America. Recorded in February at JNS Studio in Warsaw, The Insolent was engineered by Pawel Grabowski, mixed by Grabowski and the band, and mastered by Scott Hull at Visceral Sound in Bethesda, Maryland (Pig Destroyer, Agoraphobic Nosebleed), the album features a very special guest appearance of the legend of Polish electronic music scene, Władysław “Gudonis” Komendarek, and bears cover art designed by Bartek Rogalewicz. The first single from the album comes through a new Youtube video for the fourth track, “Used To,” cut from footage filmed by Paweł “Pavulon” Jaroszewicz and Łukasz Myszkowski during the recording sessions.

New York ambient duo rockers Brave The Waters will be releasing their six song debut EP titled Chapter 1 – Dawn of Days on May 12, 2015 via Bandcamp. Featuring Grey Skies Fallen and Buckshot Facelift bandmates Tom Anderer (bass guitar, acoustic guitar) and Rick Habeer (guitar) recording instrumental tunes in a stripped down fashion and recording at Keith Moore’s since burned down Audio Playground Studio.
