Metallica has issued a message to fans regarding their 2020 All Within My Hands Helping Hands Concert charity event and auction. Originally their concert was rescheduled for March 28th, but now will take place on September 12, 2020, still at the Masonic in San Francisco. You can read the message below. Aside from the second All Within My Hands Helping Hands Concert, the only gigs Metallica has officially booked so far in 2020 are the five Danny Wimmer Presents festivals, of which the band will headline two nights at each, performing different setlists. Following the two S & M2 shows last September, the band canceled their shows in Australia and New Zealand as James Hetfield entered rehab.

Twisted Sister’s Dee Snider Launches Petition for AC/DC to Play the SuperBowl Halftime Show
Heavy Metal legend Dee Snider has launched a Change.org petition to get the NFL to hire classic rock legends and recently reunited AC/DC to perform at the SuperBowl Halftime show. This sprung from Dee’s criticism on social media following this year’s halftime show performance from Shakira and Jennifer Lopez. Dee didn’t find fault as much with the artists but the insulting lack of rock or metal. Heavy music is used constantly in sports, especially the NFL where both ‘Hells Bells’ by AC/DC and Metallica’s ‘For Whom The Bell Tolls’ were heard early in the broadcast. Famously rock and metal bands such as Metallica, Foo Fighters, Avenged Sevenfold and this year Guns N Roses have all performed on the NFL’s pre-game concert the day before. Anyone performing at the big game performs for free and must pre-record and lip-sync their performance, which is why some groups like Metallica have said no, while The Red Hot Chili Peppers infamously clowned around and made fun of themselves lip-synching. Anyway, sign the petition and let’s unite for rock and metal at The SuperBowl!
Corey Taylor Addresses Knotfest Meets Forcefest Catastrophe
In a story that Ghost Cult broke the news on worldwide, Corey Taylor of Slipknot has finally addressed the Knotfest Meets Forcefest debacle last fall. During the fests first day the barricade was smashed and the final bands (Slipknot and Evanescence) canceled without an announcement. Fans stormed the stage and destroyed gear while bands and crew felt unsafe. Luckily no one was seriously injured, but Slipknot has said very little since the incident that saw them not take the stage that weekend. Speaking to Rock Antenne before Slipknot’s February 9 concert at Olympiahalle in Munich, Germany, Taylor said about the Mexico City debacle (see video below): “The barricades were compromised. And breaking in — there were so many people that it was an absolute security issue. And they tried to fix it — I can’t even talk about it without rolling my fucking eyes — they tried to fix it with, like, bike racks. It was fucking insane. They were, like, trying to wire bike racks to this thing. You go hold 25 thousand people back with some bike racks. Are you fucking shitting me? Our production manager, our security team took a look at it and said, ‘I cannot sign off on this’ — for the public’s safety.Continue reading
