As I got out of my car and began my walk to The Gramercy Theater, I noticed the wave of fans, most of them wearing Linkin Park shirts, all giving out a surge of excitable energy that would get anyone hyped up. Once inside we got the opportunity to meet Mike Shinoda and it was one of the most amazing experiences in my life. He treated everyone like a long-lost friend, smiling, joking, hugging and just being there. Continue reading

Slayer – Lamb Of God – Anthrax – Behemoth – Testament: Live at Mohegan Sun Arena
Go and see your heroes at least once before they are gone. I say this once a week to friends of mine. I hear all the time that “I can’t believe I missed so and so and now they are done”. For some of us, that list is long. Luckily, I have seen almost everyone on my bucket list, minus a few glaring omissions (AC/DC with Bon Scott, Queen). I’ve seen Slayer in all their iterations. Every lineup and era since 1991, which was my very first time. All of them ruled. However, when they announced their start of this farewell tour, it wasn’t a question to me if I was going or not? It was a question of how many times will I get to go? How many times will they come around? That number is up in the air as of this writing, but I am tickled that I got to go to see them at Mohegan Sun Arena in Montville, Connecticut. Thanks to my brother for life Dan Christian for hooking me up with a ticket and the great hangs. I saw a bunch of my metal brothers and sisters at the show and everyone was damn happy to be there, even if it also felt like a New Orleans funeral march at times with grave, sweaty faces. Post Malone Live At Xfinity Center
Austin Richard Post better known as Post Malone is one of the hottest artists out there right now. In April 2018 his 2nd album Beerbongs & Bentleys was released a year after it was supposed to, he’s touring non-stop throughout the summer in support of it. Last week the tour stopped at Xfinity Center in Mansfield, MA, and if it didn’t sell out its 19,000+ seats it was pretty close.Continue reading

Alice In Chains Live At Hammerstein Ballroom
Opening the evening was Seattle band Walking Papers. Known more because of their regular members Duff McKagan and Barrett Martin, this is an act too good to miss. Even down a few guys and playing with some fill-in musicians, the band won over the anxious crowd with incredibly soulful rock music. No BS, no self-depreciation: just rock and proud to be rock. Amazing songs and performances, especially by frontman Jeff Angell, who is incredible. They have a recent EP out from 2018, and you should all go get it now.

Jonathan Davis Live At House of Blues, Chicago, IL
Powerful, Heartfelt and Masterful is how I can best describe the evening of Sunday May 6th, 2018 at the legendary Chicago House of Blues. Jonathan Davis a.k.a. JDevil, vocals of KoRn invaded the fair city of the Dark Knight “Gotham City” aka Chicago in support of his upcoming 1st ever solo album Black Labyrinth (drops May 25). JD with KoRn since 1997 actually embarked on this solo album endeavor all the way back in 2007 where he formed a group and released a few live albums, but the solo record seemed to elude him. Until now! Well until May 25th that is! Take note: What my ears have heard so far….. Hmmmm… This is going to be one epic release!!!Continue reading
