ALBUM REVIEW: Adorior – Bleed On My Teeth

Meaning “to rise up to attack” in Latin, the British Extreme Heavy Metal unit Adorior live up to their name by consistently presenting the crudest form of violent transgressions for decades, and still going strong.

“Pitch-black winter nights live in my bones,” said Nietzsche, and that saying probably represents their speed-thrashing, pitch-black sounds in the most appropriate way possible – with resonances reminding their listeners of dark winter nights and hollering wolves on the midst of thrashing cacophonies.

Aspiring to subvert against the domesticated, conformity-oriented Metal culture of the modern days, they are back with a new release, Bleed On My Teeth (Dark Descent Records/Sepulchral Voice) for North America and Sepulchral Voice for Europe). It is an honest, off-kilter form of pure rebellion which emphasizes the authenticity they present as the true antithesis of “pseudo-rebellious Heavy Metal.”

Almost like the epitome of inclement terror incarnate, Bleed On My Teeth is all-around aggressive and soul-crushing, with fast-paced mayhem comparable to the likes of Deströyer 666 and Bastard Priest. The technical process of the album was done at Priory Studios and the mastering was done by Patrick Engel, who previously has worked with Heaven Shall Burn and Impending Doom among many of the renowned names.

Consisting of eight gnarly tracks strongly aligned towards the art of anti-conformist statements, Bleed On My Teeth is just as ever-menacing as its predecessor Author Of Incest that was released nearly twenty years ago.

With vehement inclination towards revolt and danger, this album aims to present revelation towards the lost souls in the midst of a world that has always been treacherous and corrupt. On my first listen, I caught an impression that the nuances of this album resemble Southern Lord/Svart Records’ very own Kohti Tuhoa, but Metal.

Vocalist and founding member Jaded Lungs has always been persistent in presenting the best of menacing avalanches that Adorior has to offer. If this album were to be personified, it would resemble a diabolical corpse revolting against the current and the banalities of everyday life. This album might be the right fit for you if you’re looking for some mean and repulsive aggression that would potentially incinerate the living hell out of your soul.
