Adapted, composed, and sound-designed by Whitney E. George and co-directed by George and Attilio Rigotti, the production reimagines Hyde not as a simple embodiment of evil but as something more dangerous. George explains: “For me, Jekyll and Hyde is not simply a story about good and evil. It is about the pressure to remain respectable, desirable, controlled, and legible until the body itself begins to revolt. Hyde is terrifying because he is also seductive: appetite without shame, impulse without apology, the self released from the performance of being acceptable. I want audiences to leave wondering which self they have been performing, and which one has been waiting underneath.”

The production fractures identity across body, image, voice, and sound, with live videography, lighting design by Sierra Shreves, chamber music, voice acting, and projection and set design by Orsolya Szánthó. What begins as a classic transformation story becomes a contemporary chamber thriller about repression, performance, and the dangerous pleasure of becoming unrecognizable to oneself.
