The Black Queen Cancels Summer Festival Dates


The Black Queen has officially canceled their summer festival dates, although this has apparently been in the works for some time. This includes next weeks’ 2000 Trees Fest and ArcTanGent Festival in August. The band promised in their message they will be back soon. Greg Puciato of The Black Queen To Release Book, Tour Upcoming


Just yesterday we marked the one year anniversary of the end of The Dillinger Escape Plan, in the year since Greg Puciato has kept busy with his band The Black Queen. Their excellent new album Infinite Games is out now via Federal Prisoner, a label and art collective and extension of the band. The label will release Greg’s new book Separate The Dawn. In early 2019. Separate The Dawn is “220 pages of poetry, photography, and manipulated photography culled from a much larger collection of journal entries, free writing, and photos that mostly manifested from September 2016 to December 2017. 5.5″x 8.5″. Hardcover. Edition of 1000. First press. There will not be a softcover. Digital/e-book release will be at a later date. The Black Queen Books US Tour For 2019, Shares New Video For “Thrown Into The Dark”


Supergroup The Black Queen featuring members of The Dillinger Escape Plan and Telefon Tel Aviv have booked a full US tour in support of their recent album Infinite Games. Uniform opens on all North American dates except those marked by an asterisk. Kanga opens Feb. 22 to March 9, SRSQ opens March 11 to March 28. Tickets are on sale tomorrow, Friday, Nov. 16. The Black Queen is made up of Greg Puciato (The Dillinger Escape Plan), Josh Eustis (Telefon Tel Aviv/Puscifer) and Steven Alexander Ryan (Nine Inch Nails/A Perfect Circle tech).To celebrate the tour the band has also released a new video for ‘Thrown Into The Dark’, which you watch right now.

Greg Puciato commented:

“Our energy is so high right now following our recent run of European shows, and we’re grateful and excited to keep it going and to finally, after a few years of only playing Stateside shows here and there, be able to come play everywhere we can in North America. Excited to have Uniform with us, as well as Kanga and SRSQ. We’ve been looking forward to this for a long time, so come out, let go, and get lost with us for a night or two.”

The Black Queen – Infinite Games


Supergroup is a term bandied about too much these days, including here at this very website. It’s hard to help it in the streaming music age, which coincidently has also fostered a new openness and freedom for artists to come together as never before. Perhaps we need another terminology to describe these collectives. How about “artistic hive-mind”? That’s one that definitely suits The Black Queen, who is more than a mere musical group, but carry these sensibilities in everything they do from songs and lyrics to album art, videos, t-shirts, and visual performances live. The sum of their recorded output is but one facet of what can be possible when they get together.

Max Cavalera Says Killer Be Killed Is Making Progress On Album Number Two


Metal supergroup Killer Be Killed stormed the music world when they released their 2014 debut. According to a new interview with Max Cavalera, the band has demos of 10 new songs ready as progress towards a new release. Max previously said a new album was potentially possible for 2019. Comprised of Cavalera (Soulfly, Cavalera Conspiracy, Ex-Sepultura), Sanders (Mastodon) Greg Puciato (The Black Queen, The Dillinger Escape Plan), and drummer Ben Koller (Converge, All Pigs Must Die, Mutoid Man), released its self-titled debut via Nuclear Blast Entertainment.
