Carlos Santana has released his new album today – Blessings and Miracles. The latest in his collaborative albums with other artists, Carlos has features from a plethora of stars like Chris Stapleton, G-Eazy, Rob Thomas, Steve Winwood, Diane Warren, Brook Warren, Avi Snow and more. By mid-1968 Jimi Hendrix was in the midst of a transformation as an artist. After being shunned early in his career, his meteoric rise on the strength of his two previous albums with his band The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Are You Experienced and Axis: Bold As Love (both Track Records) was brilliant, but by all accounts had left him drained. Jimi was a creative genius and always looking for the next mountain to climb as an artist. While preparing what would become his ambitious double album Electric Ladyland (Reprise/Track), Hendrix began gravitating towards a style and sound that would influence the remaining years of his life. Public Image Ltd (PiL) will be releasing their tenth studio album titled What The World Needs Now on September 4, 2015 via PiL Official (Distributed in the UK via Cargo UK Distribution and in North America via Redeye). Album opener and lead single “Double Trouble” will be released on August 21, 2015. The 10″ vinyl version will be backed by “Bettie Page” and also come with an additional bonus track which is not on the album, “Turkey Tits.”
Last year, the band returned to Steve Winwood‘s Wincraft studio in the Cotswolds’ to record the new album. The band will be doing a 23-date UK and European tour in the fall. The current lineup consists of frontman John Lydon, guitarist/multi instrumentalist Lu Edmonds (ex-Damned), drummer Bruce Smith (The Pop Group, ex-Slits), and bassist Scott Firth (Steve Winwood, John Martyn, Elvis Costello)
