Stabbing Westward Announces New EP Next Month – “Dead & Gone”
Legendary Chicago Industrial band Stabbing Westward has announced on Instagram their long in the works new EP, dubbed Dead and Gone, due on January 3rd. The group has said often at their concerts the last few years they had hoped to release new music at some point in the future. This seems to be the case with the new album from Silver Snakes – Death and The Moon (Evil Ink Records). Silver Snakes broke on the scene as a progressive modern metal band with a lot of accolades. They hinted at a dynamic shift in style with the Scathe EP of industrial metal covers but now have fully gone over to the dark side, in the best way. Stabbing Westward To Re-Release “Iwo Jesus” Early Demos
Stabbing Westward has been going hard the last few years since their return from hiatus with headline tours and a lot of fun events such as headlining the recent Dark Side of the Con in New Jersey. A leader from the 1990s Industrial Metal movement, The band has announced their original four-song demo from 1989, Iwo Jesus, has been remastered for re-release and will be pressed on limited purple vinyl. Last year’s inaugural Inkcarceration Fest in Ohio was a smash! The fest is back in 2019 and looks big with Shinedown, Godsmack, Five Finger Death Punch, +Live+, Taking Back Sunday, Seether, Skillet among the bands playing over three days in July 12th– 14th at the Historic Ohio State Reformatory. Ohio State Reformatory, a.k.a. Shawshank Prison, in Mansfield, OH – will feature over 30 bands on two outdoor stages, 70 tattoo artists, reformatory tours, gourmet food trucks, the best drinks and for the first time, the haunted house attraction, Escape from Blood Prison! The Clay People Release Illuminatus Lyric Video, New Album This Month
1990s underground metal legends The Clay People are returning with a new album later this month! Demon Hero and Other Extraordinary Phantasmagoric Anomalies & Fables on September 28th. The new 11-song album was recorded at OverIt Studios in Albany, NY. The Clay People started originally as a prominent industrial band Clay People but also had a varying style of alternative metal music that made an impact at the time. Singer Dan Neet described the album as “capturing us at a creative peak that was forged from what was, at times, a tenuous, cathartic and finally unifying recording process that reinvigorated and focused the band.”
The Clay People also called in extended members of its musical family to contribute to Demon Hero, with Chris Wyse (Hollywood Vampires, Ace Frehley, The Cult, OWL) contributing bass to the band’s reinterpretation of fan favorite ‘Strange Day’ and ‘genRX.’ Walter Flakus of Stabbing Westward and one-time Clay People member contributed keys, and programmer Wade Alin, who appeared on the band’s self-titled release, returns here as well.
Stabbing Westward Books New Headline Tour Dates
Industrial metal legends Stabbing Westward recently celebrated the 20th anniversary of their hit record Darkest Days (Columbia). On the strength of their recent reunion tours, the band will embark on another run of tour dates to celebrate that album this fall. The eleven-date run of shows is on sale now and more dates may be added by demand. The band has actually not released new music since 2001’s self-titled album in 2001, but fans remain hopeful there may be new Stabbing Westward music eventually. Continue reading

The Dreaming is releasing their new album Rise Again, via Metropolis Records on February 10, 2015. This album reunites former Stabbing Westward’s founding members vocalist Christopher Hall and keyboardist Walter Flakus. Check out “Alone” here.
The Dreaming is rounded out with guitarist Carlton Bost (Orgy, Deadsy), bassist Brent Ashley (Static X) and one-time Stabbing Westward drummer Johnny Haro.
