St. Patrick’s Day weekend in Boston. We know this song and dance already, but let’s recap… green beer, parade, inevitable bar fights, Dropkick Murphys show. But this time, there’s a twist to this weekend. The week leading up to the show also marked the grand opening of Boston’s newest concert venue, Roadrunner! Now, truth be told, I had to Google what the hell Roadrunner even was because I had never heard of it before. But let me tell you something… this may be my new favorite venue in the city.

Watch Metallica Play “Whiskey In The Jar” in Ireland in 2019 to Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day


Metallica has shared a video of the band performing the Thin Lizzy classic “Whiskey In The Jar” in honor of St. Patrick’s Day. The performance was originally part of their Worldwired World Tour at Slane Castle in Meath, Ireland, on June 8, 2019. The video was originally seen as part of Metallica’s pandemic-era live concert streaming series Metallica Mondays. For Metallica, it is their most-popular cover ever, with a charting single in 1999 and a music video that was played on MTV. Thin Lizzy is Ireland’s greatest band and their interpretation of  “Whiskey In The Jar” – a classic Irish folk song is one of theory best known songs.
