AC/DC’s Shares New Video for “Through The Mists Of Time”


AC/DC has shared a new music video for their track “Through The Mists Of Time” from their 2020 album, Power Up (read our review here) It debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart, giving the legendary rock band its third chart-topping album in their career. The clip is a rock and roll museum tour through an exhibition of the band’s incredible history. Based on a concept by guitarist Angus Young, director Najeeb Tarazi and creative director Josh Cheuse used footage shot by Clemens Habicht of each of the five bandmembers in five separate shoots around the world. They then enlisted Mathematic, a Paris-based visual effects studio, to combine all the elements so the band could take the stage together to perform the fan favorite from “Power Up”, almost one year to the day that the highly anticipated album was announced.

The new studio effort was released via Columbia Records on Nov. 13 and starts with 117,000 equivalent album units earned in the U.S. in the week ending Nov. 19, according to Nielsen Music. AC/DC previously hit No. 1 with 2008’s Black Ice and 1981’s For Those About to Rock (We Salute You). Power Up is AC/DC’s 26th charting album, and 10th top 10. Power Up has registered the largest sales week of 2020 for a rock album. The last rock set to log a larger sales frame was Tool’s Fear Inoculum (248,000; chart dated Sept. 14, 2019). Power Up’s sales were assisted by some retailer exclusive editions, vinyl variants, and an elaborate limited-edition deluxe CD package that retails for $49. (The tracklist across all versions of the album — CD, vinyl, and digital download — is identical.) Watch Angus Young Discuss his Late Brother Malcolm a New Behind The Scenes Teaser from AC/DC


 

In a new video posted on AC/DC’s YouTube channel, the band shared some more behind the scenes clips from the making of their upcoming new album Power Up. Angus described the album as a tribute to his late brother, founding AC/DC rhythm guitarist Malcolm Young, who died in 2017 from effects of dementia at age 64. Malcolm is credited as a writer on all 12 tracks on Power Up. This is the second album in the band’s career that is a tribute to a fallen member. Back In Black (review here), which turned 40 this summer, was a tribute to former frontman Bon Scott who died prior to the album. The band shared their new single, “Shot In The Dark” last week.

Ozzy Kicks Off Farewell Tour, Watch Fan-Filmed Footage


Blending his biggest hits from his solo career and a bit of Black Sabbath nostalgia, Ozzy Osbourne kicked off his farewell as a touring last night in Allentown, Pennsylvania. Stone Sour provides the direct support on all dates. Dubbed the “No More Tours 2” Tour, this is reportedly Ozzy’s final stint of long runs of concert dates, although like Sabbath he hasn’t ruled out one-off festival appearances and concerts in the future. He is adamantly not retiring and has wavered off and on about making new music. He also hinted at a future Ozzfest in New York City, but it appears there won’t be one in 2018.Continue reading
