German progressive metal act, Disillusion, have re-released their album, Back To Times Of Splendor, via Metal Blade Records, to celebrate the record’s 20th anniversary. Recently, the band also shared two tracks from the remastered full-length, “And the Mirror Cracked” and “Alone I Stand in Fires,” while also kicking off their anniversary tour in the EU. ProgPower USA 2020 Canceled, 2021 Festival Announced and GoFundMe Launched
Sadly, the long-running and legendary ProgPower USA has been forced to cancel their 2020 weekend-long festival in September. Promoter Glenn Harveston took to social media to announce that ProgPower USA XXI, the annual Atlanta event is canceled, due to the COVID-19 pandemic and rescheduled for September 8 – 11, 2021. “We can’t social distance in the venue (Centerstage) which is sold out.” The festival has rebooked for 2021 and launched a GoFundMe campaign to try and recover the lost monies from their $14,000 lost to a one-time US Visa application. Northward – Northward
Although Nightwish vocalist Floor Jansen (then still with her previous band, After Forever), and Pagan’s Mind guitarist Jorn Viggo Lofstad had never actually met before, when they played a handful of cover versions during an ‘All-Star Jam’ at Progpower USA in 2007, the two hit it off immediately. Discovering they both shared a fondness for basic, stripped down heavy rock music, the pair sat down the following year and wrote an album’s worth of music quite different to what they were both producing at the time.Continue reading

Polish pro rockers Riverside are currently working on their new studio album Love, Fear and the Time Machine, expected out in September 2015 via InsideOutMusic.
