ProgPower USA 2020 Canceled, 2021 Festival Announced and GoFundMe Launched


Sadly, the long-running and legendary ProgPower USA has been forced to cancel their 2020 weekend-long festival in September. Promoter Glenn Harveston took to social media to announce that ProgPower USA XXI, the annual Atlanta event is canceled, due to the COVID-19 pandemic and rescheduled for September 8 – 11, 2021. “We can’t social distance in the venue (Centerstage) which is sold out.” The festival has rebooked for 2021 and launched a GoFundMe campaign to try and recover the lost monies from their $14,000 lost to a one-time US Visa application. On the plus side 19 of this year’s anticipated 21 acts have reconfirmed for next year. Theyhavealreadyreceived 25K of the 14k goal. Continue reading


Amplified Festival Adds Doyle As Final Act, Tickets On Sale Now


Amplified Open Air Festival is set to take place at Quarrydowns, Gloucestershire UK from 6-8 of June. The fest had announced it’s full line-up, save for one band, the now announced Doyle. The hardcore punk and thrash metal legends’ namesake band will appear as the “very special guests” on the bill, as the band continues his As We Die: World Abomination Tour. Doyle joins the lineup of Soil, Evil Scarecrow, Therapy?, Dust Bolt, Jayce Lewis, Warrior Soul, Power Quest, Jinjer, Psycho Stick and many more. Ticket are available at the links below. SOS Fest 2017 – Part 2: Prestwich, UK

Sunday at SOSfest was for my money one of the stronger days of the weekend. Starting the day were midlands grunge band Resin. Resin have undergone an almost total line-up change since I last saw them play a couple of years ago. Most interestingly they’ve added a violinist in the form of Emma from one of my all-time favourites Cadence Noir, so I was eager to see how their sound had changed since then. Continue reading

The UK’s finest and fiercest, but most family friendly rock and metal festival gets underway tomorrow as SOS Festival marks their 10th anniversary. The three-day event held 3 Longfield Centre Prestwich, Manchester.
