And just like that, in February of 1970 – appropriately enough on the 13th – the face of music was changed forever.

Zakk Wylde Sends a Message of Support to Ozzy Osbourne After Parkinson’s Disease Announcement


Zakk Wylde has sent a message of support to Ozzy Osbourne over social media after Ozzy went public with his battle with Parkinson’s disease earlier this week on an appearance with his wife Sharon Osbourne on Good Morning America on Tuesday (January 21). Ozzy hat he was diagnosed with the progressive neurological condition. The singer received the diagnosis last February after several health issues, including a near-deadly staph infection and a fall that damaged his nervous system. He’s treating the disease with medication. Wylde who has played guitar in Ozzy’s band on and off for more than 30 years tweeted out: “BIG BL LOVE & THANKS To EVERYBODY Out There Sending The BOSS Your POSITIVE ENERGY & PRAYERS OF STRENGTH!!! OZ – YOU’RE THE GREATEST!!! YOU ARE LOVED MORE THAN YOU WILL EVER KNOW!!! XO tBLSt SDMF @OzzyOsbourne”. Zakk, who often refers to Ozzy and Sharon as his “dad and mom” in interviews, recently toured with Ozzy from 2016 – 2018 but did not perform on his new album Ordinary Man. Funko, the popular vinyl collectible toy company known for its highly collectible Funko Pop! Vinyl Figures spent the day Monday (January 21st) revealing new products all day today at London Toy Fair, including several new artist collaborations. Among the bands that Funko has partnered with are Slipknot, Slayer, Ghost And Motörhead, ZZ Top, and Weezer. Ozzy Osbourne Has Worked On a New Song with Elton John


According to his wife and manager Sharon Osbourne, Ozzy Osbourne is working on a new song with fellow music legend Sir Elton John. Sharon broke the news of the surprise collaboration was broken earlier today (Monday, January 6) by Ozzy’s wife and manager Sharon on her daytime TV talk show “The Talk” Asked by co-host Carrie Ann Inaba what 2020 has in store for Ozzy, Sharon said (see video below): “A lot of good things. Wellness. And to get back with his fans, to get doing what he loves, which is touring and being out there with his fans. And yes, there’s new music, and it’s great. He’s got all his friends playing on it. He’s doing a song with Elton. There’s so much good stuff. Good things.” It is not presently clear if Ozzy’s song with Elton will be included on the Ordinary Man album, which will be released later in 2020 via Epic Records. Elton himself is no newbie to hard rock or metal artists, such as the title track from Alice In Chain’s 2009 album, ‘Black Gives Way To Blue’, which features Elton on piano. Continue reading

Rob Halford Says Judas Priest Begin Writing New Album in Early 2020


 

In a new interview with Mike Hsu of Boston’s WAAF, Heavy Metal legend Rob Halford said that Judas Priest will begin writing their new album early in 2020. The band will be following the world-wide smash hit album and acclaimed by the music press Firepower (Epic Records). Speaking about his plans for the upcoming year, Rob said (hear audio below): “I’ll be heading back to the U.K. for the holidays, see my family and friends. And then we’re gonna start… There are two things happening. We’re gonna go into writing sessions in the early New Year, because we’re still buzzing from the ‘Firepower’ record and we’re raring to go, to see what else what we can come up with musically, through writing. So we’ve got that in planning. And then we go into the big production for the 50th anniversary [of JUDAS PRIEST], which, I believe, kicks off in Finland in June, I think it is. And then that’s it there. We’re off around the world for the rest of 2020 and some of 2021, celebrating 50 years of JUDAS PRIEST.”Continue reading
