Song Exploder Season 2 Featuring Nine Inch Nails and The Killers is Streaming on Netflix 


 


Season two of the Netflix series Song Exploder is streaming now and features Nine Inch Nails. Based on the immensely popular podcast, the series takes one song by an artist, interviews them, and analyzes the track. The new season of the show includes Nine Inch Nails’ Trent Reznor discussing his song “Hurt.” Other artists featured in season two includes Dua Lipa, The Killers, and Natalia Lafourcade. Members of Guns N Roses, Metallica, and Rage Against The Machine Honor Eddie Van Halen at Virtual Rock Hall Ceremony 



Slash of Guns N’ Roses, Kirk Hammett of Metallica, and Rage Against The Machine’s Tom Morello paid tribute to  Eddie Van Halen at the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame inductees virtual ceremony last night, November 7th, 2020. The program aired on  HBO and to stream on HBO Max November 7 at 8 p.m. ET/PT and will replace the live 35th annual Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame induction ceremony that was originally scheduled for May 2 of this year. Eddie died on October 6 at St. John’s Hospital in Santa Monica, California at the age of 65. The tribute was announced within days of his passing. The band was founded in 1974 and Van Halen was inducted into the Hall of Fame with his band in 2007. The Rock And Roll Hall of Fame 2020 inductee class included Depeche Mode, The Doobie Brothers, Whitney Houston, Nine Inch Nails, The Notorious B.I.G., T. Rex, and Ahmet Ertegun Award honorees Jon Landau and Irving Azoff. Continue reading

Eddie Van Halen Will Be Honored by The Rock N Roll Hall of Fame Next Month



According to Cleveland.com and reported by Blabbermouth.net, Eddie Van Halen will receive a short on-air tribute as part of Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame’s 2020 Induction Ceremony Special. The plan is for “multiple guitar gods paying homage to the Van Halen guitarist,” to be included in the Rock Hall special’s in memoriam section, which also honors other rock and roll legends who have passed away since the last ceremony. ALBUM REVIEW: Jaye Jayle – Prisyn


Prisyn is an album that deals in opposites. On one hand, it is an expression of Evan Patterson’s artistic freedom, in the sense that it is quite far removed from Jaye Jayle’s previous works both in terms of sound and creative process. On the other hand, that creative process was linked to circumstances of enforced restriction and confinement. The album’s title itself – Prisyn – alludes to a ‘synthetic prison’ according to Patterson himself. The work was conceived while Patterson was on an extended tour. He began to compose music in these limited conditions using just his iPhone. Instead of fleshing out or reworking the pieces with the usual Jaye Jayle band, Patterson enlisted Ben Chisholm’s (Chelsea Wolfe) help to embellish and produce the songs. The result is an album of primarily electronic music: tense, brooding and claustrophobic. But, in the spirit of opposites, there is a counterpoint to the cold synth textures in the form of Patterson’s deep and rich voice. As he sings in the very first line of opener ‘A Cold Wind’, ‘The darkness meets the lightness / Or rather the lightness meets the darkness’.Continue reading


Hear Trent Reznor and Tobacco Collab on New Song -“Babysitter”


Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails has collaborated with avant-garde electronic artist Tobacco on a new song called “Babysitter”. The track will appear on Tobacco’s upcoming album, “Hot Wet & Sassy”, which will be released on October 30 via Ghostly International. Tobacco and his previous band, Black Moth Super, toured with Trent and NIN in the past.

The Rock And Roll Hall of Fame’s 35th Annual Annual Induction Ceremony Will Be Streamed This Fall


The Rock And Roll Hall of Fame Foundation announced today that due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, it will replace its annual live induction ceremony with an exclusive special honoring this year’s inductees. The program will be available on HBO and to stream on HBO Max November 7 and will replace the live 35th annual Rock And Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony that was originally scheduled for May 2 of this year. It was announced in March that the ceremony would be postponed due to the pandemic. The Rock And Roll Hall of Fame 2020 inductee class includes Depeche Mode, The Doobie Brothers, Whitney Houston, Nine Inch Nails, The Notorious B.I.G., T. Rex and Ahmet Ertegun Award Honorees Jon Landau and Irving Azoff.
