Maynard James Keenan Responds To Rape Accusations


Last week an anonymous Twitter account @IWas17HeWas36 was launched by a person accusing Tool/A Perfect Circle/Puscifer frontman Maynard James Keenan of raping them at A Perfect Circle/Nine Inch Nails concert in 2000. Although this account of events is anonymous, any accusation of this nature always must be considered with great care and respect until proven otherwise, just based on the overwhelming evidence of under-reporting of rape and abuse. We have a responsibility to create safe spaces for the most vulnerable people among us, not just in our music scene, but worldwide. In a brief acceptance speech for winning the Icon Award at last night’s Metal Hammer Golden Gods Awards, Maynard James Keenan of Tool gave a brief update on the status of the new album progress from his main band. Ozzy, Judas Priest, Meshuggah And Myrkur Among The Winners At The Golden Gods Awards


Last night Ozzy Osbourne, Judas Priest, Meshuggah, Myrkur, Maynard James Keenan, Jessica Pimentel and many more took home the statues at the 16th annual Metal Hammer Golden Gods Awards. Hosted by Hatebreed frontman Jamey Jasta and saw Carpenter Brut, Myrkur, Meshuggah, Baroness and Parkway Drive perform in front of a packed crowd at Indigo at the O2 in London. CLASSIC ALBUMS REVISITED: Untertow By Tool Turns 25


The year was 1993 and the times they were a changing. The generational pull of Gen X was underway and a new American President ushered in a hopeful, new time for a while. Some of the cultural touchstones of the time included a weekly science fiction program about aliens and monsters dominated prime time in The X-files, the best comedy in ages, Groundhog Day reminded us why Bill Murray was and is a goddamned national treasure, and Jurassic Park was the most dominant movie in half a decade. Also, a little known “alternative metal” band from Los Angeles, by way of everywhere else named Tool hit the scene with their début full-length album and changed the course of modern music. Oddly those particular references to pop culture coinciding with Tool’s ascendance from the underground to popularity all signal a weird synchrony that was represented by the band and the music they brought to bear.

Tool Is Recording Their New Album In Analog


As they have done in the past, Tool is recording their new album in analog, at least the instrumentation. In a new update to his Instagram, Tool guitarist Adam Jones shared a photo of drummer Danny Carey and Producer Joe Barressi working on the new album. Past Tool albums have recorded the band in analog while Maynard James Keenan recorded his vocals in ProTools, which was also used to mix their albums.Continue reading

The last new music from the band was 2015s Money Shot, which was followed up in 2016 by the re-mix album Money Shot Your Re-load, both released on Keenan’s personal imprint, Puscifer Entertainment. Adam Jones Confirms A New Tool Album Is Getting Closer To Completion


Critics and fans alike have been getting a lot of teases from members of Tool regarding a new album, and whether it will actually happen in 2018. Adam Jones has been sharing video and photos showing some new progress here and there. Now in an Instagram Live chat captured by Metal Injection, Jones confirmed that the music for the new album is complete, and lyrics are “coming in hard”. Like everyone else we want to see this new Tool album release soon, as it has been almost 12 years now since 10,000 Days (Volcano) came up in 2006.Continue reading
