ALBUM REVIEW: ADULT. – Kissing Luck Goodbye – Dais Records 


ADULT. has become a staple of dark electronic music, moving dance floors for 25 years. Kissing Luck Goodbye (Dais Records) continues their sonic legacy, even if it takes it in an unexpected direction. The project’s sound fall closet to industrial than darkwave in terms of aggression, though Nicola Kuperus‘ vocals are certainly influenced by it. Their industrial slant should not be surprising, considering one of their frequent collaborators was Douglas McCarthy of Nitzer Ebb (RIP). The stomping anger of the track would be post-punk if this were being made by guitars. Leaning heavier into the electronics for ” R U 4 SALE”, where they take complete control of the dance floor with buzzing synths grooving chaotically,  even the lyrics admit that “the chaos is what they want”.
