As it celebrates 130 years of music history, Gibson, with Slash (a partnership of over three decades), have recreated one of the iconic guitarist’s favorite stage guitars for 30 years. They are now introducing the Slash “Jessica” Les Paul Standard. New Sister Rosetta Tharpe Documentary Released by Gibson Guitars


Shout Sister, Shout! Sister Rosetta Tharpe is the name of the new documentary on the life of guitar rock and roll founding Mother, Sister Rosetta Tharpe, debuted by Gibson Guitars via their Youtube channel, GibsonTV.  Named after the biography of the same name by author Gayle F Wald, the doc spotlights the underrated legacy of this rock guitar pioneer. Gibson and iconic just announced Tool guitarist Adam Jones partnership and signature Adam Jones 1979 Gibson Les Paul Custom Guitar. Now, a pallet of new Gibson Adam Jones 1979 Les Paul Custom Silverburst guitars has been stolen from a Sweetwater Music truck at the Flying J Travel Center in Whiteland, IN on October 30, 2020. Gibson and iconic Tool guitarist Adam Jones Announce Partnership and signature Adam Jones 1979 Gibson Les Paul Custom Guitar. The Adam Jones 1979 Les Paul Custom is a limited-edition guitar offering from Gibson Custom Shop Murphy Lab that exactly recreates Adam’s #1 guitar, his prized original Silverburst 1979 Gibson Les Paul, seen everywhere during the world tour for the group’s blockbuster Fear Inoculum album, which became one of the highest-selling albums of 2019. A limited offering of 79 Adam Jones 1979 Les Paul Custom replicas have been precisely aged by the expert luthiers and craftspeople of the Gibson Custom Shop Murphy Lab–led by Tom Murphy–then signed and numbered by Adam himself. An additional 179 Adam Jones Les Paul Custom replicas for 2020 feature exclusive silkscreen artwork on the back of the headstock, created by Joyce Su and Adam. Jerry Cantrell Signs New Endorsement Deal with Gibson Guitars as a Brand Ambassador


Jerry Cantrell has announced a new partnership with Gibson Guitars. Gibson, in business for the past 126 years, has announced today, January XX, 2020 that Cantrell–main songwriter, lead guitarist, and vocalist for the pioneering rock band Alice in Chains–will join as the brand ambassador. Jerry Cantrell will be doing a signing in the Gibson experience space, 3rd Floor, Ballroom A at Winter NAMM on Saturday, January 18 at 4:00 pm. Bart Walsh, Former Guitarist for David Lee Roth, Dead as Age 56


Sad news to report as former David Lee Roth guitarist Bart Walsh has reportedly died. He was just 56. No cause of death has as yet been revealed. Ex-Mötley Crüe frontman John Corabi paid tribute to Bart on social media, writing: “R.I.P. Bart Walsh ….A great guy, talented guitar player, and always beyond helpful when I worked at Gibson Guitars…I hope you’re happy playing guitar up there buddy!!!! You’ll be missed…” Walsh’s death was also reported by a DLR fan account. Walsh was the original guitarist for the Van Halen tribute band The Atomic Punks, which also once featured singer Ralph Saenz, now better known as Michael Starr from Steel Panther. His years spent performing with them caught the eye of VH frontman David Lee Roth, and he was soon recruited to join Dave on his 1999 world tour as his lead guitarist. Although Bart is best known for his time playing hard rock, he grew up under the tutelage of his great uncle Cecil Campbell, a Country Music Hall Of Famer. After the DLR band, Bart toured with Brett Michaels, worked for years for Gibson Guitars and other projects. Continue reading
