ALBUM REVIEW: Demonstealer – The Propaganda Machine


 

One of the most influential figures in the constantly evolving Indian metal scene, vocalist and guitarist Demonstealer (aka Sahil Makhija) is probably best known for fronting progressive technical death metal act Demonic Resurrection. Since 2000, Makhija has been integral to the growth and development of a metal scene in a country not exactly renowned for its metallic input. Not just via his music and the establishment of India’s first designated metal recording studio, a record label (Demonstealer Records), and metal-centric festival (Resurrection Festival), but by creating Headbanger’s Kitchen, the world’s first heavy metal cookery show. Because why not.

REVIEW: Beyond Creation – Fallujah –  Arkaik – and Equipoise: Live at The Sanctuary, Detroit MI


The bright blue paint job on The Sanctuary makes it the most inviting building on Cardiff Street. Nestled in the middle of Hamtramck, a pint-sized town in Detroit, The Sanctuary is actually one of the most inviting music venues in the whole city. The Canadian Death Metal act, Beyond Creation brought their proggy and technical goodness to Ham Town earlier this week. It was the second to last gig on a month-long tour with Fallujah, Arkaik, and Equipoise. The band has been promoting their most recent full-length album, Algorythm (Season of Mist) on this run and hearing it played in full made for a perfect Metal Monday. Continue reading


Beyond Creation Books North American Headline Tour


Technical Death Metal masters Beyond Creation have booked a headline tour of North America. Direct support will come from Fallujah, Arkiak, and Equipoise. The tour takes place on September 20 in Chicago, IL and will conclude on October 22 in Lexington, KY. Ticket links will be available soon. All tour dates can be found below. The band have won the Independent Music Award in the Best Metal/Hardcore Album category for their 2018 release, Algorythm. The album was also nominated for a JUNO-Award (Canadian Grammy) earlier this year. Continue reading
