Tool’s New Album Officially Named: “Fear Inoculum”, Back Catalog Goes To DSPs This Week

Tool has announced the title of their new album, Fear Inoculum, due out on August 30th 2019. The second word in the title is Latin for needle or material used to give inoculations. The follow-up to 2006’s “10,000 Days” is due on August 30. The disc is expected to include the songs ‘Descending’ and ‘Invincible’, which the band has performed live since this past April. Produced by Joe Barresi, and mastered by Bob Ludwig, who previously worked on 10,000 Days. Recording commenced in March 2018, with drummer Danny Carey laying down his tracks first and bassist Justin Chancellor recording his parts next. Tool will also share their entire back catalog on all digital streaming platforms this week, in a move long-awaited by fans, perhaps even more than new music. Continue reading

Video: Tool Performs Classic Track Sweat – Last Played On Tour 1998

tool at Bill Graham arena

Tool played the second night of their current US tour last night and the second in a row at Bill Graham Civic Arena. Playing a slightly different set than the night before, the band included the song ‘Sweat’ from their 1992 EP Opiate in their performance. It was the first performance of the song since 1998 on Ozzfest. Aside from the title track, historically the band rarely plays any songs from that album or 1993s Undertow live. Chatter on social media shows the fanbase are hopeful that the band will continue to include more classic material from their early days on this tour.
