Originally formed in 1996 in New York City, Boiler Room released their self‑titled, independent album that same year produced by future Guns N’ Roses guitarist Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal. The addition of Rob Caggiano (Anthrax, Volbeat) in 1998 began a creative writing relationship between him and singer Chris Lino and elevated the bands sound and performance. 1999 saw the band opening for nationally recognized acts along the East Coast, including Type O Negative, Life of Agony, Clutch and Static‑X, helping them catch the attention of renowned NYC radio station 92.3 K‑ROCK.
