Billy Joel’s Classic “New York State of Mind” Appears in “Daredevil: Born Again” Season Two – Episode Four

Billy Joel’s classic ode to his hometown, “New York State Of Mind,” was heard in the fourth episode of Season Two of the Disney+ series Daredevil: Born Again this week. The song was originally written by Joel in the 1970s upon his move back to New York from Los Angeles, before taking up a prominent place in the cultural zeitgeist following the terrorist attacks of 9/11. Music has been a prominent part of the Daredevil series, including “Crionics” by Slayer appearing last season.    Continue reading →


Slayer’s Deep Cut “Crionics” From “Show No Mercy” Heard in “Daredevil: Born Again” This Week

A deep cut from Slayer’s 1983 debut album Show No Mercy (Metal Blade Records) was heard in the third episode of the Disney Plus series Daredevil: Born Again this week. “Crionics” can be heard in a scene featuring a stashed witness and a safe house. The track is the ninth song on Show No Mercy and is co-written by guitarists Jeff Hanneman (RIP) and Kerry King. Check it out! Continue reading →
