Billy Joel’s classic ode to his hometown, “New York State Of Mind,” was heard in the fourth episode of Season Two of the Disney+ series Daredevil: Born Again this week. The song was originally written by Joel in the 1970s upon his move back to New York from Los Angeles, before taking up a prominent place in the cultural zeitgeist following the terrorist attacks of 9/11. Music has been a prominent part of the Daredevil series, including “Crionics” by Slayer appearing last season.
