UPDATED: Pink Floyd Release New Song for Ukraine – “Hey Hey Rise Up” ft.  Andriy Khlyvnyuk of Boombox

Pink Floyd has released new music in support of the people of Ukraine entitled “Hey Hey Rise Up!” This is the first new original music that they have recorded together as a band since 1994’s The Division Bell. The track sees David Gilmour and Nick Mason joined by long time Pink Floyd bass player Guy Pratt and Nitin Sawhney on keyboards and features vocals by Andriy Khlyvnyuk of Ukrainian band Boombox. All proceeds from the track will go to charity supporting Ukraine, under siege from Russia since February 26th.

JD McGibney and Friends Shares New Single – “Voices In The Dark” ft. Chen Balbus of Orphaned Land

JD McGibney who plays  guitar in the epic instrumental metal band Angels on the Battlefield, and formerly a live member of Chinese folk metal band Voodoo Kungfu, and Nekrogoblikon has launched a new project JD McGibney and Friends. Focused on a message of positivity and spreading awareness for mental health charities, the band has launched their debut single “Voices In The Dark” featuring Chen Balbus (Orphaned Land, The Secret Saints). The goal of the track and project is to raise money the mental health organizations the You Rock Foundation and NAMI. The single is streaming and you can also watch a playthrough video of JD jamming along to the track.

Deaf Club Share Charity Single and Video for Their Cover of “The Wait” by Killing Joke

San Diego-based Hardcore Punk and Metal collective Deaf Club have dropped a tight new cover and video of Killing Joke’s classic track “The Wait.” The video was created by Displaced/Replaced. The track is available digitally on Bandcamp for people to pay what they want, and all proceeds from now until Jan. 4th will go to support the state of Georgia U.S. Senate runoff election, which may have dire consequences for the USA, following the traitorous reaction to the results of the 2020 Presidential Election. The band consists of underground scene leaders such as Justin Pearson (The Locust, Dead Cross, Planet B), Brian Amalfitano (ACxDC), Scott Osment (Weak Flesh), Jason Klein (Run With The Hunted), and Tommy Meehan (The Manx, Chum Out!). The band released their debut EP and  Contemporary Sickness, as well as a Remix cassette EP of bonus remixes featuring GothBoiClique’s YAWNS, Bubblegum Octopus, 304angstroms, and DJ Embryonic Petit Sac.
