AC/DC Announces Their Long-Awaited Power Up 2024 World Tour, Chris Chaney (Jane’s Addiction, Alanis Morissette) to Replace Cliff Williams on Bass

AC/DC has finally announced their long awaited “Power Up” tour! The European tour will begin May 17th in Germany. More dates for the rest of the world are expected to be announced in time. Joining the core of the band co-founder guitarist Angus Young, singer Brian Johnson, guitarist Stevie Young, and drummer Matt Laug (ex Alanis Morissette, Alice Cooper, Slash’s Snake Pit) and Chris Chaney (Jane’s Addiction, Alanis Morissette, Camp Freddy). The band last played at October’s PowerTrip Festival in Indio, California. It was their first show with Brian Johnson since 2016, now that he is recovered from his severe hearing loss issues. The band commented: “We are thrilled to finally announce the ‘Power Up’ European Tour. Angus, Brian, Stevie, and Matt will be joined by Chris Chaney to carry the torch for Cliff. “The tour will see us play shows across Germany, Italy, Spain, The Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland, England, Slovakia, Belgium, France & Ireland this Summer. AC/DC is Teasing Their Much Anticipated 2024 World Tour

Fueling the fire of speculation over many months, AC/DC is teasing something on their social media. This is likely the world tour they have been hinting at, with several dates already leaking out via some sources. The band last played at October’s PowerTrip Festival in Indio, California. It was their first show with Brian Johnson since 2016, now that he is recovered from his severe hearing loss issues. Bassist Cliff Williams is rumored to be stepping down again for the tour as well. He officially retired in 2016. The band released their acclaimed album PWRUP in 2020. The simple video has minimal visuals with a possible countdown element, perhaps meaning they will announce the tour on SuperBowl Sunday, February 11th, 2024.Continue reading


Iron Maiden Teases Their 2024 Tour Plans


 

In a comical new video,  Iron Maiden has teased their touring plans for their 2024. Prior to their appearance at last weekend’s Power Trip Live Festival, the band hinted they might do a smaller theater tour of to perform only their 2021 album Senjutsu (EMI/Parlophone). The new video is reminiscent of a similar teaser video around the same time in 2019, when the band planned to do Rock In Rio and many European music festivals again. Several members of the touring crew, Nicko McBrain, and even Eddie the ‘Ed are all asked where are they going to go on tour next year. Their recent tours from the band includes “The Legacy of the Beast Tour” and “The Future Past Tour” in back to back years with many hits and a few new songs in the setlist.
