Czech festival, Brutal Assault, has announced the booking of another 16 bands for 2024, ranging across death metal, stoner, prog and core. After The Burial, Cryptopsy, Deicide, Dopethrone, Night Verses, Obscura, Plini, Red Fang, Riverside, Severe Torture, Spiritbox, Stoned Jesus, Ten56., Textures, The Amity Affliction, and Villagers Of Ioannina City all join the bill. Death metal is expanding with the addition of Florida masters of the genre Deicide after their last year’s excellent performance. Along with them, the technically proficient Canadian Cryptopsy will take Brutal by storm with their fresh new release As Gomorrah Burns. Obscura will add a tinge of technical melo death to the line-up. The death metal gore carnage will be taken care of by Severe Torture as befits this Dutch band.

You will have the opportunity to drink a few litres of beer with one of the most important bands of the stoner (rock/metal) scene of the last years – namely the Red Fang. A fusion of doom, prog and grunge will be delivered by the talented Stoned Jesus. A Greek stoner ritual will be performed by Villagers Of Ioannina City, who infuse their heavy psychedelic rock with folk instruments. Dopethrone will take care of combining doom, sludge and stoner into one metal euphoria.

The good news for the prog scene is undoubtedly the announcement of the return of Dutch innovative metallers Textures, who aren’t missing Brutal Assault line-up either. Along with them you can also look forward to the acclaimed independent progressive guitarist Plini from Sydney, the melancholic Riverside or the surreal musical poetics of Night Verses, who are the only support act on this year’s Tool tour, proving their extraordinary quality.

Modern approach, “new blood” and core will be represented by Australian metalcore masters The Amity Affliction together with progressive metalcore quartet After The Burial. Also arriving for the first time at Brutal Assault will be the talented Spiritbox. Ten56. will be bringing their blend of djent, deathcore and a pinch of rap-core.
