SINGLE BULLET THEORY Announces Return of Guitarist Dan Loughry and Fall Tour Dates with PISSING RAZORS

Philadelphia’s SINGLE BULLET THEORY is thrilled to announce the return of longtime guitarist Dan Loughry (pictured far right) to the band’s active lineup. Loughry, a pivotal force behind the band’s third record, On Broken Wings (Crash Music Inc.), is rejoining the fold after more than a decade-long absence.

Dan originally joined SINGLE BULLET THEORY during the touring cycle for 2005’s Behind Eyes of Hatred, contributing both rhythm and lead guitars to On Broken Wings. His tight, razor-sharp playing helped define the sound of that era, and he went on to perform dozens of shows throughout the East Coast and New England. Loughry was also present for the early writing sessions of the band’s fourth record, IV (Goomba Music), and played virtually all guitars on the band’s crushing cover of Death’s “Spirit Crusher,” which featured none other than King Diamond drummer Matt Thompson.

“This honestly feels like coming home,” said Loughry. “SINGLE BULLET THEORY has always been a part of me, and after sitting on the sidelines for the last decade, I’m beyond stoked to jump back in. The material is stronger than ever, and I can’t wait to hit the stage with the guys again.”

Loughry’s return comes following the recent departure of longtime guitarist Richard Gulczynski, who parted ways with the band due to personal and creative differences.

“Dan brings so much to the table,” said frontman and founder Matt DiFabio. “His picking is insanely tight, the chemistry is undeniable, and on top of that, the guy has a brutal voice. That’s huge for us, especially with how demanding and hybrid our vocal arrangements have become over the years.” “I kinda knew we had the right guy again,” DiFabio continues. “The day after our first rehearsal with him, he is out buying $2000 baritone 6-string guitars!”

SINGLE BULLET THEORY is gearing up to release their brand-new single, “Freedom (They Will Come For You),” featuring a guest solo by James Murphy (Testament, Obituary, Disincarnate) with accompanying fall tour dates as well. The band will be hitting the road with Pissing Razors and performing select shows with Byzantine.

DEATH TO ALL Announce The Symbolic Healing Tour

Death To All, the touring tribute to the late Chuck Schuldiner and his pioneering band Death, returns to North American stages this November for a month-long celebration of two of the legendary band’s landmark albums: ‘Spiritual Healing‘ (1990) and ‘Symbolic’ (1995).

“The time has come to commemorate a couple of milestones in the DEATH catalog,” says Gene Hoglan, whose iconic drum performances graced classic DEATH albums, Individual Thought Patterns (1993) and Symbolic. “30 years of Symbolic and 35 years of Spiritual Healing! Two vastly different yet significant eras of DEATH. Both albums are going to be a blast to represent.”

Hoglan is joined in the Death To All line-up by fellow Death veterans Steve DiGiorgio (bassist on 1991’s Human as well as Individual Thought Patterns) and Bobby Koelble (guitarist on Symbolic), as well as Max Phelps (Exist, ex-Cynic) on guitar and vocals. Death To All celebrated Scream Bloody Gore (1987) and The Sound of Perseverance (1998) across North America in 2024.

Along with the dual album celebration, each night will showcase classics from DEATH’s catalog.

“Will Spiritual Healing and Symbolic be performed in their entirety like last year’s sold-out Scream of Perseverance tour?” Hoglan teases. “Well, everyone is going to have to catch these shows for themselves to see. Will it be an incredible night of unforgettable metal, honoring the great Chuck Schuldiner, as only Death To All can do? Of course it will. Death To All stands alone.”

The fall tour will feature special guests Gorguts and Phobophilic.

“It’s with great honor that we’ll be sharing the stage with these death metal monuments,” says Gorguts vocalist/guitarist Luc Lemay. “DEATH had such an important influence on me as an artist. It’s the band that made me want to become a death metal musician. Chuck was my idol, my inspiration. See you on stage. Be prepared for an evening of classic death metal!”

North Dakota death dealers Phobophilic will open each show with their cerebral savagery.

“This will be an unforgettable tour, indeed,” Hoglan promises. “We can’t wait to share these November nights with all of you.”

About DEATH TO ALL:

Founded in 1984 by Chuck Schuldiner under the original name of Mantas in Altamonte Springs, Florida, DEATH was among the more widely known early pioneers of the death metal sound, along with California’s Possessed. Inspired by Nasty Savage, DEATH was among the first bands in the Florida death metal scene. In the late 80s, the band was both a part of and integral in defining the death metal scene, which gained international recognition with the release of albums by a number of area acts.

Death To All operates as a tribute band to the original DEATH, which dissolved in 2001 following the passing of the group’s founder and frontman, Chuck Schuldiner. The backbone of Death To All is singer/guitarist Max Phelps (Exist, Cynic), drummer Gene Hoglan (Dark Angel, Testament, Dethklok), bass beast Steve DiGiorgio (Testament, Sadus), and Bobby Koelble (DEATH).

Just ahead of their forthcoming tour, Los Angeles legends Fishbone have returned with fire. The genre-smashing pioneers just released the video for “Secret Police,” a blistering visual companion to the track off their latest album Stockholm Syndrome. It’s a raw, visceral, and unapologetically confrontational video. It’s a gut-punch indictment of ICE brutality, racial injustice, and American hypocrisy, a reminder that protest music is alive, necessary, and urgent. Watch the video below.Continue reading

Slipknot Shares a Demo Version of “Prosthetics” From The Deluxe Version of Their Debut Album Anniversary Boxed-Set

UPDATED: Slipknot will release 1,899 more boxed sets today for a total of 1999. Buy at the link below.

As part of the digital rollout for their 25th anniversary edition of their 1999 self-titled debut, Slipknot have released a demo version of “Prosthetics.” The track is one of 59 bonus recordings featured in the deluxe set.

Slipknot have opened their vault for the 25th anniversary of their 1999 self-titled debut, revealing a huge new box set curated by M. Shawn “Clown” Crahan. The set—pressed on “blood-filled” vinyl—is limited to just 100 copies worldwide and reportedly sold out instantly at $250 per set. Clocking in with 59 tracks total, the release digs deep into the band’s early days, including rare Indigo Ranch demos produced by Ross Robinson, alternate mixes, live cuts, and 40 previously unreleased recordings. Though Roadrunner Records had previously issued expanded editions, this new set was curated entirely by Clown, now dubbed the band’s “caretaker.” Their 1999 debut album—which went gold in early 2000, platinum by May, and now sits at 2x platinum—was commemorated heavily last year with a full 25th anniversary tour. Hopefully, the band will offer more versions of this set. Continue reading
