New York death metal icons Immolation have released their twelfth studio album, Descent, via Nuclear Blast Records, and have also released the video for the new single “Bend Towards the Dark.” Stream the album, watch the video, and catch them on The Godless IV tour now.

Descent was recorded across two sessions: Justin Passamonte tracked guitars, bass, and vocals at Jpass Music, while drums were recorded at Mercinary Studios with Noah Buchanan. Longtime engineer Zack Ohren handled mixing and mastering in collaboration with the band, delivering a muscular, high-fidelity production that captures Immolation’s fiery and brooding moments with equal clarity.

“Bend Towards the Dark” was directed by guitarist Robert Vigna. The band comments, “It has just about every element you would expect from Immolation, but it takes things a bit further. It’s intense and heavy, yet it becomes very epic and almost orchestral at times, really embodying a lot of feeling and emotion throughout.”

Eliran Kantor returns to craft the cover artwork, with Santiago Jaramillo of Triple Seis Design handling the internal booklet illustrations. Immolation is currently on the road across North America as part of the massive Godless IV tour alongside Behemoth, Deicide, and Rotting Christ, with additional headline dates woven throughout the run.
