Sad news as legendary Leeway frontman Eddie Leeway has died. The news was shared on the Official Eddie Leeway Instagram that Eddie, Edward Anthony Pomponio, had passed in his sleep on April 19th, 2024. The post was immediately followed by an outpouring of love and grief in the comments from the Hardcore and Metal music community. Eddie had been in hospice care since March 30th as he battled cancer for over four years. In true Eddie fashion, he fought and was positive until the end. Leeway is one of the most distinctive and copied hardcore bands, but hard to replicate their sound due to Eddie’s unique vocal delivery. Funeral arrangements have been announced at the links below.
