I love that every couple of years. Baroness does a small venue tour, it feels more connected to their base, and there is nothing better than seeing one of your favorite bands in an intimate room, singing along with a packed crowd. If you were a fan of early Baroness, this was your tour to see them play both Red and Blue Album (both released on Release Records) front to back. Many songs and interludes have never been performed live before.
Dawn of Ouroborus opened the first of two nights at The Meadows in Brooklyn. I wasn’t familiar with them, and I was happy to get the chance to catch a new-to-me West Coast band. I got good vibes from them, they performed with smiles on their faces and good energy to back it up.
Baroness was great, and it was epic to see two of my favorite albums, both Red and Blue played all the way through. Baroness are just a well-maintained and polished machine on stage at this point in their career; they are killing it and having fun while they do it. Fans were gifted complete renditions of both Red and Blue, acoustic interludes and all. It felt really special, and I’m glad I got to enjoy it.
