Belgian blackened death metallers Archaic Oath have unveiled a new track, “Wrath of the Witches,” the third preview of their debut album “Determined to Death and Beyond,” set for release on April 24 via AOP Records. Stream it now on AOP Records’ YouTube channel.

Archaic Oath is the product of a partnership between Lykormas and Arneriach, two experienced underground veterans who first connected briefly in 2005 and later reunited due to their shared passion. Both are involved in other projects: the pair is also known from Marche Funèbre and Hemelbestormer. Yet, the desire to revive blackened death metal in its rawest form never faded.

Their influences include iconic voices of the Nineties melodic black metal scene, Naglfar, Dissection, and Unanimated, and “Determined to Death and Beyond” was crafted during the cold, long winter of 2024–2025 to honor that lineage.

Three tracks have now been revealed ahead of the April 24 release: “Into the Temple of Light” and “Forest of Horrors,” preceded by “Wrath of the Witches,” all available to stream on AOP Records’ YouTube channel. A duo in the studio, Lykormas playing all instruments and Arneriach handling vocals and lyrics. Archaic Oath expands into a full live lineup with former members of Beltez, Sumerian Tombs, and Melechesh. Cover artwork is by Wesley Dewanckel.
