Connecticut heavy duo, Turkey Vulture, have unleashed their new two track EP, Dead to Me. The title track is a Felice Brothers-inspired ode that shows the band’s lighter side. The second is a heavy version of “Jill The Ripper” (to original appearing their On The List EP) with verses set to a sinister version of “House of the Rising Sun.” Check it out below and find out more.

Frontwoman Jessie May says, “While Turkey Vulture is planning to be less active in 2025, we were glad to have the opportunity to record these songs and get them out into the world. Jim is releasing an EP with his solo project Shieldwolf next month and I plan to do some solo recordings as well. Will there be more from Turkey Vulture in the future? Vultures symbolize death and rebirth – so don’t count us out just yet!”
Turkey Vulture is a Milford, CT-based duo blending punk energy, doom metal grit, and Americana storytelling since 2019. Comprised of Jessie May (vocals, guitar, bass) and Jim Clegg (drums, backing vocals), the band channels influences like Misfits, Social Distortion, and Motorhead into a raw and unpolished sonic force. Their discography includes four EPs—Boxer (2019), Time to Pay (2020), Twist the Knife (2022), and On the List (2024)—along with an array of eclectic singles, including “Dead to Me.” Known for weaving folk elements into their heavy sound, Turkey Vulture has reinterpreted traditional songs like “In the Pines” and “Jill The Ripper,” while also drawing inspiration from film and pop culture. Jessie and Jim, married with two young children, have been playing music together since 2008, with past projects spanning punk, metal, and folk. Their music embodies resilience and defiance, whether telling tales of Robert Johnson’s deal with the devil or nodding to cult horror films. Turkey Vulture continues to carve its own path with an unwavering DIY spirit. Dead To Me was recorded, mixed, and mastered by Tom Boudreau at Bonehead Studio in Cheshire, CT, with artwork by Jim Clegg.
