Cork alt-rock trio, The Last Vinci, have announced that their new album, 15 Minutes At A Time, will arrive April 17, via Narrow Door Records. They recently dropped the official video for the album track, “Living Certified Disaster.” Watch it below and find out more.
At the heart of 15 Minutes At A Time lies a phrase that frontman Alex Vinci never expected would change his life. Two years ago, after being diagnosed with a chronic illness just ten days before what he believed would be his final European tour, Alex’s wife offered him simple, grounding advice: “Take it 15 minutes at a time.” Those words became a mantra, one that reshaped his creative voice, his view of the world, and ultimately, the soul of this new record.
Supported by his family and six children, Alex embarked on a path of rediscovery, learning to live, work, and create in small, determined increments. 15 Minutes At A Time captures the entirety of that journey: the before, the during, and the after. The album channels the fear, uncertainty, hope, and resilience that transformed a life-changing diagnosis into a profound source of meaning. In Alex’s own words, “For the first time, it feels like an album that moves me as if it were written by someone else.”
Emerging from the vibrant Cork music scene, The Last Vinci, led by Alex Vinci’s unmistakable three-amp, low-end assault, have built a reputation as one of the most electrifying live acts in alternative rock. Their self-titled debut The Last Vinci (2014) propelled them onto stages across Ireland, the UK, Italy, Switzerland, Latvia, and Lithuania, armed with crowd-shaking tracks like “Follow Your Order,” “Free From Yourself,” and “No Place to Hide.”
The band doubled down on their audacity with the 2019 EP The World, Enda Kenny, the Devil, the Vegans and All the Millennials Shit (Narrow Door Records), supported by a whirlwind tour across Ireland, Italy, and the UK. Their relentless energy continued through the pandemic, during which they built The Narrow Studio, a DIY creative HQ in Cork that became crucial to their evolution.
In 2021, they partnered with celebrated Liverpool producer Tom Peters (Alpha Male Tea Party, Bicurious, Cleft) to record their second LP, The Revolution Is Made Together (2022). Loaded with standout tracks like “Gallow,” “Glitter Slaughterhouse,” and “Adding Water to the Ocean,” the album gained widespread acclaim and heavy rotation from Kerrang! Radio’s Alex Baker for its soaring single “Falling from a Mountain of Joy.”
The momentum never let up. Their 2023 European tour supported by Culture Ireland featured sold-out shows in Cork, Bristol, and Cambridge, as well as packed venues across Germany and a triumphant homecoming to Italy. In 2024, they joined forces with Brighton electro-punk trio CLT DRP for a fiery Irish run, solidifying their status as an unmissable live force.
With 15 Minutes At A Time, The Last Vinci continue their commitment to authenticity, crafting a record that is as heavy as it is heartfelt. Created independently, true to the band’s ethos, the album distills their raw power, introspective songwriting, and trademark sonic intensity into their most emotionally resonant work yet.
This is more than an album: it is a message to anyone facing their own battle. A reminder that even in the most uncertain moments, there is strength in taking life 15 minutes at a time.
