This production is a blend of the raw power of metal, the precision of classical opera, and the adventurous spirit of experimental jazz. The vision was brought to life by Laurent David, bassist and producer, who led his experimental jazz trio Kilter to collaborate with an incredible array of artists. Brand new sentence: Jazz Metal Opera is going strong. I first saw La Suspendida on its opening night in January 2023. Although fantastic in its own right then, the ensemble has eclipsed the sum of its parts and reached new heights.
