Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda To Release Solo Album This June

Mike Shinoda, the co-founder and multi-instrumentalist from Linkin Park will release his début solo album this June 15th from his label, Warner Brothers. Dubbed Post-Traumatic, Shinoda wrote the album as a way fo coping with late LP frontman Chester Bennington’s death last summer. Shinoda dropped an EP of the same recently and shared two new singles and a new video today as well. Gorillaz – With Vince Staples: Live At Blue Hills Bank Pavilion

It had been 7 years since the last time Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett better known for their virtual band Gorillaz had graced Massachusetts with their presence. So it made perfect sense that they had a sold out show at the 5000 capacity Blue Hills Bank Pavilion. Instead of hiding behind a backdrop and have the virtual animated characters be front and center, Albarn and Hewlett along with many guests, a choir, and full band performed over 20 songs encompassing their 19-year career over 5 full-length albums. Linkin Park – One More Light

It’s a tricky thing growing up and playing music. I don’t mean “former child stars gone bad, next on TMZ”. Most bands that hit the mainstream have something catchy, visceral, and often a magic quality about their talent. The problem is that once you’ve gotten a taste of that hot hot spotlight, usually a band or artist ends up uncompromising to stay in front of it. The few that don’t ever sell out, fight an uphill battle the rest of their careers.
