Wacken Metal Battle Canada has announced its return for 2025. Independent bands will battle it out across the nation, for just one spot at an already sold out Wacken Open Air (July 30th – August 2nd), which has seen an attendance of over 80,000 people in Wacken, Germany for over 30 years. Band submissions end November 20th, 2024, and are only open to unsigned bands. Ghost Cult is an official media partner of Wacken Metal Battle Canada 2025. Find more information below.

Wacken Metal Battle Canada Announces Details of Rounds
With submissions from bands across the country, Wacken Metal Battle Canada has announced a majority of their 2024 battles, with more to follow. All the battles are listed by participating cities (Ottawa bands will be hosted at Montreal rounds), and the national final held in Edmonton, AB on May 25th. Selected bands will have the chance to win a slot as the only independent Canadian band to perform at International Battle at Wacken Open Air (July 31st – August 03rd). Wacken Metal Battle Canada 2015 Digital Compilation Available For Download
Wacken Metal Battle Canada has a 2015 digital sampler of competing Canadian bands, which can be downloaded here.
Wacken Metal Battle Canada is part of an international competition where band’s from across the country in Victoria, Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Saskatoon, Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, and Quebec City will battle each other for one to be selected and join over 30 other countries for an international battle of the bands at the world’s largest outdoor metal festival Wacken Open Air, which has been taking place in Wacken , Germany for the last 25 years. Toronto’s Crimson Shadows and Montreal’s Mutank have had that honour playing in front of thousands. This year’s festival will be taking place from July 30th to August 1st.
