Among the countless commercials seen during Superbowl 53 last night, an unlikely metal band had their song featured in a commercial spot. Post-Rock Band This Will Destroy You had their song ‘The Mighty Rio Grande’ featured in Verizon’s ad for their “All Our Thanks” campaign, singling out first responders and donating money to charity. This is pretty momentous for the awesome, but the unheralded band in a sea of commercials featuring pop stars and pop culture icons.
