Gunk-drenched avant-grind alien entity Squid Pisser are on the road, opening for GWAR on “The Stoned Age” tour for its duration, culminating on November 20th in Nashville Tennessee. Squid Pisser are touring in support of their new album Dreams of Puke, which was released on June 14th on the great SKiN GRAFT Records (Buñuel, Melt-Banana, Dazzling Killmen) and the band’s own Sweatband Records.
The album has been making a gooey splash (not just for its manic fusion of Punk, Grindcore and Sludge), but for its delightfully grotesque album artwork by painter Gregory Jacobsen (who also fronts Squid-Pisser-label-mates Lovely Little Girls). Controversy around the album art has led to strategic placement of parental advisory stickers on CD copies. Meanwhile the band’s distributor Redeye Worldwide were forced to make a vinyl reprint having received copies with mutilated and damaged jackets.
The casual creation of such hysteria could barely be more Punk Rock and Ghost Cult could not be more delighted to be teaming up with the band to share the video for “Vaporize A Neighbor” — a suitably demented visual companion to the track’s vortex of deranged, metallic riffing — directed by special effects artist Eris Deo.
