Jimmy Webb – Rock N Roll Fashion Icon Has Died, Age 62

A legend of Rock N Roll has died. Jimmy Webb, who dressed four generations of rockers and fans from his East Village boutique Trash and Vaudeville. He was 62. At press time there has been no official cause of death. Jimmy spent many years as the manager and primary buyer for Trash and Vaudeville before opening his own boutique, I Need More, in 2017 on Orchard St. Over the years Webb had styled for MTV, Rolling Stone, and Vogue, and regular customers/clients were a Who’s Who of punk and rock, including Iggy Pop, Alice Cooper, Debbie Harry, Slash and many more. One of the holdovers from the 1980s punk and metal spirit of the era, he helped define that class of that era, and Jimmy continued to innovate and create looks synonymous with the rock, punk and metal ethos. Listen to An Unreleased Track by Righteous Fool, “Low Blow”, Featuring Reed Mullin of Corrosion of Conformity

Rolling Stone is currently streaming a new, previously unreleased track by Righteous Fool. The band and the track featured Reed Mullin of Corrosion of Conformity, who passed away last month at age 53. Today would have been his 54th birthday. Righteous Fool also featured COC bassist Mike Dean, and guitarist Jason Browning, who all shared vocal contributions. The band released one two-song seven-inch in 2010. The track ‘Low Blow’ was recorded in 2011 at Studio 606 in the San Fernando Valley (Dave Grohl’s studio) with the intention to be included on a debut full-length that never came to fruition. The stream serves as a tribute to Mullin on what would have been his 54th birthday (February 12th). The project actually led to the trio era reunion of COC that eventually led to the reformation of the “classic” lineup with Pepper Keenan that has been back in action for several years. Soundgarden Claps Back in the Lawsuit over Chris Cornell’s Royalties and Final Songs

In a story we first reported and have been following, according to a published report by Rolling Stone, the surviving members of Soundgarden have denied Vicky Cornell’s claims that the band is withholding royalties of Chris Cornell’s from her and also denied her claim that she is the sole owner of several recordings Cornell worked on before his death in a new court filing. Cornell died from suicide on May 18th 2017. According to the report, “The motion, filed Tuesday and obtained by Rolling Stone, is a response to a lawsuit Vicky Cornell filed last December against her late husband’s former bandmates, Kim Thayil, Matt Cameron and Ben Shepherd, and the band’s business manager, Rit Venerus. Vicky accused the band of withholding royalties from the Cornell family to force her to turn over a handful of recordings made before Cornell’s death.” Continue reading →
