Tonight on October 19th, 2024, Ozzy Osbourne was inducted into The Rock And Roll Hall of Fame as a solo artist. Seated on a Gothic black throne festooned with skulls and a giant bat, Ozzy was seated on one corner of the stage for that entire portion of the ceremony next to actor/musician Jack Black, who made the induction speech. Ozzy thanked “whoever voted for him, his fans, Randy Rhoads, his wife Sharon Osbourne for saving his life,” and more! A three-song medley-style performance took place featuring his own recent and former band members Zakk Wylde (Black Label Society/Pantera), Andrew Watt (Post Malone), Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers/Chicken Foot), Robert Trujillo (Metallica, Jerry Cantrell) as well as Maynard James Keenan (Tool, a perfect circle, Puscifer), Jelly Roll, Wolfgang Van Halen (Van Halen, Mammoth WVH), Billy Idol, and Stevie Stevens. After the performance, each performer went up to Ozzy to hug him and thank him. His hometown of Birmingham, England paid tribute to him today in a video message. Ozzy was inducted into the Rock Hall on the same day his album No More Tears (Epic Records) earned Quintuple-Platnum designation for five million in sales. Continue reading
